Hi, I need your help figuring out the process to create an ebook from scratch.
This is what I want to achieve.
Let's say I have the PDF contents for my ebook and I have a cover design I want to use.
The steps needed to get my ebook, as far as I understand, are:
1. upload both files (PDF and cover) and get the id for both of them.
2. provide a cover conversion manifest to generate the cover (I have a bunch of questions regarding this)
3. convert the book contents
4. provide project's details
Currently I'm able to do the file uploads and get the id's.
I'm missing the cover conversion manifest part. I'm not familiar with all the concepts included (frontFlap, backFlap, spine, etc).
I'ld like some help figuring out how to generate a cover for an ebook from scratch.

Those steps are correct, but there is a hitch where the cover comes in. The cover generation API is intended for use in generating a book cover (front cover, spine, and back cover) PDF. It currently does not support generation of an eBook cover (which would amount to just a front cover). If you are able to generate an appropriate PDF for your eBook cover, then you can simply use it directly in the create call.
As far as the interior PDF goes, if you already have a PDF you won't need to run it through conversion. The conversion engine is intended for use in converting Word DOC files (along with some other formats) into a PDF for those who don't have a mechanism for doign so themselves.
FYI, The front flap and back flap are for use in a jacketed hardcover. These are the parts of the cover that fold into the book usually have an author biography and/or book synopsis on them. The spine is the side part of the cover between the front and back.
